Compared with the hard alloy wire drawing die, the tensile strength of the polycrystalline die is only about 70% of that of the commonly used hard alloy, but the hardness is 2.5 times that of the hard alloy. In this case, the polycrystalline diamond mold has more advantages than the cemented carbide mold. The wire drawing die made of polycrystalline diamond has better wear resistance, uniform inner hole wear, stronger impact resistance, and higher wire drawing power. As a result, the current polycrystalline mold has gradually attracted attention from the beginning of the metal wire drawing profession.
Compared with the cemented carbide die, the use of polycrystalline diamond die drawing dies has the following significant advantages:
1. High drawing power. The necessary protection of the wire drawing die during the entire process of use is very important to the service life of the wire drawing die and the appearance quality of the wire. It is usually recommended that customers protect the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die every 24 hours. Within 24 hours, the hole diameter of the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die changes little, and the wire diameter change rate of the drawn wire is also very small. Regarding the entire production process, the wire diameter compression rate of each drawing die is very stable, and the ratio of input to output is very large.
2. Good abrasion resistance and longer life span. The life of the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die is about 30-50 times that of the cemented carbide die, so there is no need to stop the machine to replace the die during the entire drawing process. The aperture of the polycrystalline wire drawing die changes very little per unit time, and the size of the drawn wire is small, which is very beneficial to the winding of the reel. Usually the number of winding turns of the drawn wire is fixed. If the size of the wire product becomes larger quickly, the number of winding turns is relatively quickly reduced, which requires constant changes in the size of the reel, which is not conducive to the improvement of production power.
3. Save data. If you are drawing a metal-plated wire, the electroplating process is not stopped during the process of stopping the drawing, which will cause the thickness of the electroplating layer on the surface of the wire to be electroplated to exceed the thickness. When the drawing is restarted, the thickness of the wire needs to be exceeded. Cut it off, which will cause great damage, and the more downtime, the greater the damage. The use of polycrystalline diamond molds can greatly reduce this waste.
