Compared with cemented carbide die, the use of polycrystalline diamond die to draw copper-plated welding wire has the following obvious advantages:
1. High drawing efficiency. The necessary maintenance of the wire drawing die during use is very important to the service life of the wire drawing die and the surface quality of the wire. It is usually recommended that customers maintain the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die every 24 hours. Within 24 hours, the hole diameter of the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die changes little, and the wire diameter change rate of the drawn welding wire is also very small. For the entire production process, the wire diameter compression rate of each drawing die is relatively stable, and the ratio of input to output is large.
2. Good wear resistance and long life. For drawing copper-plated welding wire, the life of the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die is about 30-50 times that of the cemented carbide die, so there is no need to shut down frequently to replace the die during the drawing process. The aperture of the polycrystalline wire drawing die changes little per unit time, and the size of the drawn copper-plated welding wire changes little, which is very beneficial to the winding of the reel. Generally, the number of winding turns of the drawn copper-plated welding wire is fixed. If the size of the finished welding wire becomes larger quickly, the number of winding turns is relatively rapidly reduced, which requires continuous changes in the size of the reel, which is not conducive to the improvement of production efficiency.
3. Save raw materials. As we all know, the electroplating process does not stop during the process of stopping the drawing, which leads to the thickness of the copper plating on the surface of the welding wire being electroplated. The more waste, the bigger the waste. The use of polycrystalline diamond molds can greatly reduce this waste.
