Performance comparison between polycrystalline wire drawing die and carbide wire drawing die

Compared with cemented carbide, polycrystalline diamond has a tensile strength of only 70% of that of conventional hard alloys, but is 2.5 times that of hard alloys. In this way, the polycrystalline diamond mold has more advantages than the cemented carbide mold. The wire drawing die made of polycrystalline diamond has good wear resistance, uniform inner hole wear, strong impact resistance and high wire drawing efficiency. Therefore, polycrystalline diamond molds have begun to be paid more and more attention in the metal wire drawing industry.

Compared to cemented carbide molds, the use of polycrystalline diamond die drawing dies has the following distinct advantages:

    1. High drawing efficiency. The necessary maintenance during the use of the wire drawing die is very important for the service life of the wire drawing die and the surface quality of the wire. It is generally recommended that the customer maintain the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die every 24 hours. The diameter change of the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die is small within 24 hours, and the wire diameter change rate of the drawn wire is also small. For the entire production process, the wire diameter compression ratio of each wire drawing die is relatively stable, and the ratio of input to output is large.

    2. Good wear resistance and long life. The life of the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die is about 30 to 50 times that of the cemented carbide die, so that it is not necessary to stop the mold frequently during the drawing process. The polycrystalline drawing die has a small change in the unit time and a small change in the size of the drawn wire, which is very advantageous for winding the wire. Generally, the number of winding wires of the drawn wire is fixed. If the finished wire size is rapidly increased, the number of winding turns is relatively rapidly reduced, which requires constant change of the roll size, which is not conducive to the improvement of production efficiency.

    3. Save raw materials. If the drawn surface is plated with metal wire, the plating process does not stop during the process of stopping the drawing, which results in the thickness of the plating layer on the surface of the wire being plated exceeds the standard. When the drawing is restarted, the wire exceeding the standard is cut off, causing the pole. Big waste, the more the number of downtimes, the more waste. The use of polycrystalline diamond molds can greatly reduce this waste.

    4. Reduce labor intensity. Due to the long life of the polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die, the expansion number is slow, and it is not necessary to change the mold frequently. It is not necessary to pay attention to the change of the wire size when using the brushed die of the hard alloy, which greatly reduces the labor intensity of the workers. Zhongneng can take care of 4~5 wire drawing machines.
