PCD cutting tools composite sheet is a kind of knife blank which is made by uniformly mixing metal particles with a particle size of micron order and metal powders such as Co and Ni, and sintering it on a tungsten carbide (WC) substrate under high pressure and high temperature. new material. PCD composite sheets not only have the superior properties of diamond high hardness, high wear resistance, high thermal conductivity, low friction coefficient, low thermal expansion coefficient, but also good strength and toughness of cemented carbide. Therefore, it can be cut into the required cutter head, and the cutter head is welded to the cutter body and sharpened into a PCD cutter.
Main performance indicators of PCD tool materials:
1. The hardness of PCD can reach 8000HV, which is 80~120 times that of cemented carbide;
2. The thermal conductivity of PCD is 700W/mK, which is 1.5-9 times that of cemented carbide, even higher than PCBN and copper, so the heat transfer of PCD cutter is rapid;
3. The coefficient of friction of PCD is generally only 0.1 to 0.3 (the friction coefficient of cemented carbide is 0.4 to 1), so PCD tools can significantly reduce the cutting force;
4. The thermal expansion coefficient of PCD is only 0.9×10 -6~1.18×10 -6, which is only equivalent to 1/5 of the cemented carbide. Therefore, the PCD cutter has small thermal deformation and high processing precision.
5. The affinity between PCD cutters and non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials is very small. During the processing, the chips are not easy to bond on the tip to form built-up edge.
